 About Our Organization: 

Our organization, True Believers Community Connections, is a 501c(3) organization that empowers clients through education and training as a leadership development institution. Our vision is to provide resources and direct services for emerging leaders by:
*Mentoring
*Youth Development
*Workforce Development

We use our youth initiative Stay L.I.T. (Living in Truth) to foster community relations throughout the Auburn Gresham and Englewood areas. By collaborating with community partners, we offer supportive services for youth ages 11 to 24. Our focus is on delinquency and violence prevention and our niche is service learning projects. Some examples of our youth projects include:
*Teen Mom Support Summer Camps
*After School Leadership Programs
*Girl Talks

 About the Position: 

Student interns will participate in an agency on-boarding process that will review ethical standards, professional conduct, and administrative policies and procedures for daily operations. The on-boarding process covers the mission, vision, and focus of the agency with details on roles and responsibilities of staff and volunteers. Student interns will have clear expectations of ethics and professional behavior during her field practicum experience. Students will also apply the information learned during the agency on-boarding process while interacting with staff, volunteers, clients/families, and community resource partners.

Student interns will utilize their time in supervision and consultation to help guide their professional judgment and behavior, as well as help manage their influence of personal bias and values in working with diverse clients. Students will also assist in developing mutually agreed-on program goals and objectives, as necessary.

Student interns are evaluated by direct observation with feedback offered from their direct supervisor in individual and group settings. Staff meetings are additional opportunities for students to dialogue with professional colleagues to gain further insight on clients, tasks, and projects.

 

 
 Time Commitment: 

30 hours per week for 8 weeks
