Skills for Chicagoland's Future
job description
About Our Organization:
Skills for Chicagoland’s Future is a jobs-first, employer-aligned workforce development organization that seeks to increase the economic mobility of the under and unemployed by connecting them to quality jobs through our deep partnership and understanding of the unique human capital needs of our network of engaged employers. Skills’ deep relationship with employers is the key to bridging what is often a gap in access and in ensuring that the job seeker has the skills and readiness to succeed in a job. Skills’ talent acquisition efforts intentionally target geographies where unemployment and poverty are entrenched- specifically sourcing talent from the South and West sides of Chicago and marginalized populations (90%+ people of color, 65-70% female) and connecting them to jobs
About the Position:
Data and System Insights Intern
Skills is at a pivotal point in its organizational growth, and one of the key areas of emphasis in 2023 is updating/optimizing our current data and systems. Skills is acquiring a new core software system for tracking job seeker applications and their corresponding placement and retention detail. The role of the intern would be to assist in maintaining internal data compliance as we launch the new software system. This will include data input and quality assurance to ensure the data entering the new system is clean and accurate. Additionally, the intern would manage the dispersal of and analysis of surveys to our candidates to track retention and job quality metrics. This is a new process at Skills, and the intern would own the setup and process documentation for this new survey. The intern will also have additional projects in the data and insights department they can support as their capacity allows, including third-party data analysis of workforce and economic trends, sales projection modeling, business prospect research, etc.
