 About Our Organization: 

The Center for Changing Lives partners with those held back by lack of resources and economic opportunity to uncover possibilities, overcome barriers, and realize their potential. Our work includes coaching on financial, employment, and resource mobilization goals that enhance lives, training, and skill enhancement opportunities, and advocacy and organizing on economic policy and practices that open up opportunities and resources.

Center for Changing Lives is a BIPOC-led and BIPOC serving organizations. Many of our staff are first generation college students. CCL utilizes co-active coaching to engage the community and one another as colleagues, and ardently believes that each person is the expert in their own life and creative, resourceful, capable and whole.

 About the Positions: 

Non-Profit Finance Intern

Light Bookkeeping and Accounting Administration. Assistance with accounts payable entries while learning the chart of accounts structure and cost allocations in Quickbooks Online. This will include uploading receipts, ensuring documentation is accurate, and supporting reconciliations. 

A potential summer capstone project would be to research strategies to improve and share monthly financial information with leadership staff and board members in relation to program costs and future projections. The Non-Profit Finance Intern would present proposed strategies to the finance committee upon completion. The intern may also assist with the development of updating internal financial related forms to meet guidelines.

Development Intern

Supporting development work with a focus on preparation and outreach for CCL's 35th Anniversary Gala Event on October 5th, 2024. This will include outreach to current and lapsed donors, supporting Fund Development and other donor engagement activities.

The capstone project for the Development Intern centers around the Gala planning meetings and action items.

Our ideal candidate for the Development Intern would be:

  • Able to work independently
     
 Time Commitment: 

Up to 35 hours/week plus 5 hours/week of professional development activities

$17.50/hr compensation

 Location of Internship: 

75% Remote, 25% Onsite
